Nuvole — ‘clouds’ in Italian — is a series of instinctive paintings, void of any subject matter that might limit the free flow of the artist’s inner vision. Like looking at the sky and seeing images in the clouds, the paintings evolve and transform into a whimsical world where shapes, lines, colours and forms thrive in visual harmony.

Perucchetti starts each painting with a pencil, wanting the lines to be precise and the acrylic to achieve a super-smooth surface. Twelve of the paintings were first shown at Alon Zakaim Fine Art, London, in 2018.

An exuberant vision, charged with vitality.
Now that the world is so beleaguered by conflicts, anxiety and untrustworthy political leaders, we feel immensely relieved to find in Mauro Perucchetti’s new work an exuberant vision.
Far from seeing our planet as a place overshadowed with gloom, he offers us an arresting alternative charged with vitality. They seem to be powered by an inexhaustible energy, and their profusion of restless forms and colours have a spontaneity which directly reflects the artist’s own spirit of delight.
