Abstract & Unicum
Unicum, 2011 — pigmented resin and mirror stainless steel
A pioneer in the use of resin, Perucchetti spent years experimenting with forms, colours and mediums long before he began making art formally. Unicum brings some of those discoveries into daylight: pigmented resin poured over mirror-polished stainless steel, each piece a one-off whose surface changes with the light and the viewer.

Statement
Throughout my life I have always been fascinated by new materials.
Throughout my life I have always been fascinated by new materials and worked very hard at discovering new mediums for my work. For many, many years before I even started making art formally, I devoted myself to experimenting with forms, colours and mediums.
Some of the effects I achieved blew me away but, certainly in the early days, they often ended up being stored as prototypes, like heroes without a mission. I have now decided to expose some of those ideas to daylight. A celebration of colour, form and technique, Unicum has a very unique fingerprint.
